Camping Trip #1 continued...

We spent a ton of time on the beach.  Such a great beach.  The water is so nice and clean.  Beach too.  We canoed to the beach with all our stuff and spent the afternoon snacking, reading, playing, swimming, catching minnows, and having fun.

Ethan liked watching the other sunbathers.

The kids in the distance...they're catching minnows in their nets.

I started a sand castle with Ethan and it evolved to moat building and everyone else got involved too.

Ethan by the castle with the stick.  It HAD to stay there and we checked later that evening if it was still there - it was.

Austen caught lots of minnows to use for fishing.  Unfortunately, they quickly died.

So proud of his catch.

Mini-me.  This is what I'd be doing if I didn't have to watch little ones.

Mason spent a lot of time finding water lilies.

The next morning, we saw a blue heron in the distance.

It stayed for quite awhile.

You can see it in the distance.

Ethan tried to get him to come closer by yelling, loudly, "HEY, YOU BIG BIRD!!  YOU WANT SOME BIRD SEED?!?!?!"

Yea, he didn't come closer.

The ducks came back again.

This time we got smart and blocked the water off with the canoe.  No more catching 30 pounders.

Campfire :).

Great views.

We went fishing at the dock/boat launch.

Runway Model Walk :).

Fishing.

Coffee.

And a 2 year old with his pink fishing rod.  Actually, a barbie fishing rod.  He loves it.

More coffee this early morning.

More reading for mini-me :).

A view of the early morning beach.

Austen adores fishing.  He would do it all day, I think.

A close-up of more ducks.

More sand castle building.

The drive home = exhaustion set in.

It was a wonderful camping trip.  One to remember forever.
