Oh, and for now, we call the babe "Wilson" because he looks like a giant volleyball attached to me...hence "Wilson, the volleyball". Get it?

Baby Wilson at 34 weeks...
With each of my pregnancies I've taken the exact same photo with the same clothes on. Each of the kids has a framed pic of me pregnant with them in the same pose. They're all taken around 8 to 9 months. Today I took one of Baby Wilson. I can't believe the difference in skin colour! This is the first time I'm pregnant in the summer and I've gotten quite a tan!

Beach time!
Last weekend we took the kids to the beach. We expected it to be super-busy, it being a weekend and all, but it was surprisingly quiet! We had a lot of beach all to ourselves...so nice! It was quite hot though, and this pregnant lady went into the water every 20 minutes to cool off. The heat got to me a little and I didn't cover myself in sunscreen too well on my legs (which never tan) and got a bit of a burn...not fun.
For the rest though, we had a wonderful time. The kids absolutely loved it. They made a sand turtle with Ian, played on the beach, went for many many swims, and did general beach stuff. Of course we went for some ice cream too which was (in Mason's words) "Mmmmmmm....Licious!!!"
We went to the Provincial Park where Ian and I both worked summer jobs (Ian for many years, me for one) and showed the kids where we worked. They have a beautiful beach and quite a large one.
We stayed pretty much the whole day and were quite tired by the end of the day. Simple fun. So worth it...

Our Summer so far...
It's only been a few days of summer holidays and we've done a lot of relaxing and fun stuff already.
The first day, I took the kids strawberry picking at 8 AM. It was awesome. They got to ride the tractor and wagon to the strawberry patch and helped me fill 2x4L baskets. When we got home, Mason "helped" make strawberry jam (the others weren't too interested in this).

The next day was July 1, Canada Day. We relaxed some and went to see the fireworks at 10 at night. The kids never usually stay up this late (really only at Christmas time) so they were quite tired the next day. But, they had lots of fun seeing fireworks for the very first time. The boys loved it and Megan eventually did too.

The next two days (yesterday and today) we've mostly been relaxing and trying to catch up on our sleep debt. The weather is finally (!) warm - around 30C - and the kids were in the pool with Ian a lot this weekend (not me - it's gotta be super warm in order for me to brave myself in a prego bathing suit and into the water).

This little monkey loves the water - just check out the smile!

Austen is all about safety...lifejacket, floaties, AND ring. Three times safety. And he still complains that he's sinking!

We also needed bubbles by the pool, apparently...

This morning we went to the early service at church..8:00. So nice and so calm. "It wasn't busy at all," according to the kids :)
It's over at 9:00 and we're home by latest 9:30. So we have the rest of the day still! Here are the 3 monkeys with their church backpacks on...

This monkey is NOT happy about going to church today and still has quite a sleep debt from Canada Day...

Megan is always "not warm", so she still wears a sweater most days. Guess she kind of takes after me that way :)
