Day 5

Day 5 brought some hard to find hiding places from our elves...but they left us a clue in the Elf Journal...it said: "We are going to go for a spin!"
(they also spelled their initials in clementines (Christmas oranges) and turned all the chairs backwards!)

And guess where they were?

Have a great day!

And...
Do you want to come play in our "Little People" town today?

It's so cold out there that we dragged and sorted all our Little People stuff and created a Little People town...they've played with it all day...

Hot Air Ballooning and IceCube Painting

Cinnamon and Snowflake went for a romantic hot-air-ballooning date last night...

We did some icecube painting for our Letter I theme this week...

(Seriously, this is sooo easy to do, so fun, and sooo much less messy than actual paints!  You just add foodcolouring to water, freeze with some sort of stick in the middle (poke through foil to keep from falling) and voila!  We're taking the outside this afternoon to paint the snow!)

Scroll through for some caption pictures.

"If you look at me, I'll give you the death stare"

Concentrating hard.

Using all the colours.

The ice cream template.

"Ma, this is bogus. I can't eat these!"

"Here!  Here!  You take 'em!  I don't want them anymore!  TAKE THEM!"

Day 3

This morning the kids found Cinnamon and Snowflake sipping syrup in the fridge.

Did you know syrup is one of the elves' main food groups?

It'd be nice if it was part of one of the human food groups too!  Grrr...vegetables!

Cinnamon's Archive

A few people have asked me to see Cinnamon the Elf's archive...his antics from last year and the start of this year.

I made a link in my sidebar on my blog for all of Cinnamon's hiding places - check it out.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat...

Day 2...

Cinnamon and Snowflake went rowing last night...must've been romantic...then again, maybe not, with the toilet right there.

Spoons for oars...so smart those elves!

Looks like a relaxing good time...

(Though I think her skirt is hiked up a teeny bit too high :) )

Cinnamon's 1st Day and Our 1st Snowfall!

The kids were so excited to find Cinnamon this morning!

They saw a trail of paper airplanes and followed it...

Following...

Till they found him here!

See him?

Up high on the railing..perfect view of our living room.

His perch.  With another paper airplane.

The kids read his Elf Journal (they use this to write to him and he writes back.  We have last year's letters in it too - a great keepsake!)

This is what it said.  He said yesterday that he had a super secret and did the kids want to know it??  Well, of course!

They found the surprise in the shower!

Cinnamon's lady friend, Snowflake!  (The kids named her).

Megan WAS SO EXCITED...another girl in the family!!!

At 8:00, before bus pick-up, we went outside to enjoy our very first snowfall this year!  I love snow as long as it's not freezing cold outside but it was perfect.

Austen shovels the snow for Daddy...

Megan went all around on the saucer.

Ethan loved the baby sled.

Megan...

Our pretty house all decked in Christmas...

Mason was in his element...

More shoveling...

Pulling 3 boys at the same time...no, I don't need a gym membership...I've got one right here...

Our new neighbours who bought the land right next to us were at it early again...building their house...

(funny, I didn't know it was wise to build a house at the end of November...hmmmm)
(they have a lot of work to do...this is just the foundation)

After getting everyone on the bus, we came in for a snack.

While I was cleaning that up...

I forgot to child-lock our pantry cupboards.
(here they are locked)

And when you forget to lock them up, this is what happens...

But at least he's willing to share with his brother.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Hope you enjoy the snow as much as we are!

Santa Claus Parade & North Pole Breakfast a.k.a. Cinnamon's Return!

Update:  Megan's got a new blog post!  Check out her blog by clicking on the side bar that says "Megan's World"

Last night we went to the Parade of Lights...the kids had a great time though it was really really cold and Ethan's little hands were sooo freezing (despite 2 mittens on each hand).

Here we are waiting...with Grandma and Grandpa and Ali and Idalee.

Anxiously awaiting the start...

Megan on Grandma's lap...

Ethan has no idea why we're standing in the freezing cold, trying to keep his little face out of the wind.

I didn't take a lot of photos due to the cold..but here's one of the big guy...

The next morning came quite early...at least for Ethan and I.  The kid won't sleep past 3:30 AM...what in the world????

Anyhow, lots of time to check out the festivities in the dining room/kitchen...

Because who returned this morning?????

That's right - our elf Cinnamon!  If you want to read about our elf and his antics last year click HERE.

We start off with our traditional North Pole breakfast.

Fresh cinnamon rolls, warm from the oven ('cause when you're up at 3:30 AM one has time for that)

A sugary-filled breakfast!

Cinnamon!

French breakfast muffins...homemade...recipe HERE...delicious!

Megan's missed Cinnamon a lot!  Here she is yelling HI CINNAMON!!

Mason's looking for him...couldn't find him.

Ethan's still happy.

Austen's excited.

2 thumbs up for SUGAR!!!

They saw his elf door.

Funny guy.

Another funny guy.

Shot of our Christmas socks (same shot as last year...again, click HERE to see last years)

CUTIES!

Watching "An Elf Story" about Chippy the Elf on the Shelf.

The kids had a lot of energy...weird eh?...after breakfast... so they played a lot...together...they played store or something and had to make signs...

And here is Austen sounding out everyone's names... I LOVE LOVE LOVE his spelling of Ethan's name!

Have a good Sunday!  We will - we'll be snacking on leftover  muffins, cinnamon rolls, donuts, chocolate....mmmmmmmmm.....
