Changes...

So we've had a lot of problems with Austen sleeping, since he was 9 months old. When we discovered last March that he had food sensitivities we eliminated those and since then he's been sleeping better and better. It's a gradual change though. He was still waking up about 2,3, or 4 times a night last month. He slept through the night about 5 times since he was born. No, it hasn't been fun. But what are you going to do? Make the best of it. I had an idea beginning of March that perhaps a complete change, a new room, and a sleeping buddy, and a new routine might just change things. So this March Break we've done it. We moved Megan and Austen in together. We painted their room. They each have their own wall. Megan picked pink, Austen picked blue. It looks awesome. They've been playing in there every day and since they have bunkbeds they've enjoyed climbing them and playing at the top too. Ian and I are enjoying the fact that they are getting along reallly well, playing with each other, and growing closer it seems. The first night we put them to bed in their new room we started with the new routine. And it worked! They've slept in their new room for 4 nights now and Austen has slept through the night EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! It's amazing. We hope it's not "too good to be true", so knock on wood, and PRAY that this is EVERLASTING! Oh, I hope so...now it's on to getting the little one to sleep through the night...but Mason is very good...he too seems to have felt the change and has only woken up twice or three times the past few nights. Then again...Ian and I are way more relaxed now that it's March Break and the kids feel that and are more relaxed too, so we'll see!
