It was a PA Day today and as always I like to be organized. I found this awesome simple activity online, great for a wide age range (which I need with having an age range of 3-9 on a PA day). We made marshmallow igloos. All you need is a 1/2 apple for each child, peanutbutter, and mini-marshmallows. In addition, we used pretzel sticks for chimneys and white frosting for extra snow things. Megan made colourful snowmen beside her igloo (which were colourful mini marshmallows with white frosting), Austen made a really great pretzel stick fence, R made colourful snowmen, J1 made a snowfence, J2 made a pretzel stick snow fence around his igloo, and B made trees, fences, snow, and a bunch of other things. They LOVED the activity and the best part of it is that it's edible and patially healthy too! They loved the fact that I called the icing and peanutbutter "glue" and we talked about "yellow snow" (the yellow marshmallows). The rest of the day was filled with a fun winter movie, and a snowman contest - build the biggest snowman ever! And of course, hot chocolate afterwards...
