DAY 5 of 5 - KCDC WINTER OLYMPICS 2010

Last day of the KCDC winter olympics! We had two final competitions today (we were supposed to have Bobsledding - tobogganing - in the afternoon but the hill was not 'sleddable' due to all the snow so we scrapped that one). We had "Ring Toss" and "Golf". The kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly and loved both games. Below are the results:

GOLF
Gold - Germany and Korea
Silver - Netherlands and Italy
Bronze - France

RING TOSS
Gold - Korea
Silver - Germany
Bronze - Italy

BOWLING
...this was an ongoing event in which the kids could play every day at designated times to try to improve their scores...
GOLD - Germany
SILVER - Chech Republic
BRONZE - Korea

We had our closing ceremony today and awarded the medals. I had made tons of medals (CDs and DVDs spray-painted with gold, silver, and bronze - tied with a ribbon and written the game and KCDC Winter Olympics 2010 on it) so each child went home with lots and lots of medals. I really liked it this way because then every child felt good about their performance and no one was left out.

A big thank you to Japan's family for providing us with trophies which will be given out on Monday (Participation trophies).
Another big thank you to France, Chech Rep., and USA family for lending us the Inukshuk.
A HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE thank you to my dear husband who helped me out a lot with the Olympics when I had to do all the preparations and with me carrying out the events after school - thank you for the flowers, hon!
A big thank you to all the kids for being such great sports and trying so hard - you guys are great!
