Here some pics of his wonderful birthday.
The elves made him an elf-size birthday cake.
Austen LOVES fish. He asked for an aquarium for his birthday.
His elf cake.
We made snowball fight cupcakes for him to treat his first grade class but Friday was a snow day so we had them in the morning at home.
Third missed his rest time and when he had a time-out this is what we found after 3.5 minutes.
One of the now-famous "Third sleeps anywhere" pictures.
We also had a special visitor peek in our windows!
See him? The guy in red?
Austen's request was an aquarium cake so we googled one and he loved this one. It was my first try with sugar glass and it worked! All edible except the lid. I had NO time to try to make a fondant lid.
Some candy fish are suspended with fishing line from the lid....and I put a light inside the lid too.
Green licorice for seaweed and a Twix treasure chest.
The rocks are chocolate candy rocks! They look so real! Thanks, Bulk Barn!
And what do you do with the sugar glass?
(Sugar glass is what they use in the movies as fake glass so that they can break it and it doesn't hurt. )
Well, we weren't about to smash it over someone's head like in the YouTube video we saw so the next best thing was:
Yum!
Austen also got an eyewitness Fish book...keeping in with the fishing theme!
The next morning Cinnamon had built a sort-of snow man/monster in the freezer.
And Snowflake had a shower.
This morning, Christmas Eve morning, Snowflake was making necklaces out of beads.
And Cinnamon hung out in Ethan's stocking.

Another great post Cin! Merry Christmas Eve to you too!
