Happy 8th Birthday, Megan!

Megan turned 8 yesterday!

She had a wonderful day.

The day started with the elves' return...no more strike.

 

They made her an elf birthday cake!

A quick little story:

I was doing the dished after having labored over Megan's birthday cake.  I had put the 3 layers of cake in the extra fridge in the laundry/pantry room. 

The boys were playing quietly. 

Too quietly.

I went to see if Ethan was still where I left him. 

Nope. 

Upon further investigation I came upon an open fridge door and a 15 month old enjoying 2 gumballs with more in his hands! 

Horror! 
First, my thought went to choking hazard!
Next, the cake. 

He could've done way more damage than he did and I guess a fridge lock is now on our grocery list. 

(Yep - also didn't think he could open the fridge door.)

 

The cake is not perfect by any means - not symmetrical, not smooth, and very loopy - but Megan was very happy with it and that's all that matters in the end.

 

This guy enjoyed the fruits of his my labour.

The kids were all over oma as always :)

Idalee shared her Ali's I-Pad with Mason and watched "Max & Ruby" while we played Headbandz
