Grandpa/John's 70th Birthday

Yesterday was Grandpa (Ian's dad) surprise 70th birthday party. Carol and Ali organized it at Ali's house with Lynn and the boys, uncle Glen, Rick, and Adam as special surprise guests from afar. Lots of other friends and family attended too and John was truly without words.

It started with an Easter egg hunt for the grandkids.

Everyone in Idalee's wagon.

Looking for eggs. Everyone had a bucket with their initial. They each had a colour assigned to them, along with finding the big prize of the golden egg.

Opening our treasures...

Ethan's sitting almost by himself, with Lynn's support.

Grandpa and his grandkids and the cake.

The motorcycle cake with candles, and motorcycle cupcakes on the sides for the grandkids.

A close-up of the cake I made for John...he just recently got into motorcycles, having bought one, and I therefore used that as an inspiration for the cake...check out the symbolic road signs too...approaching 70...one-way....no u-turns....windy road ahead...deer crossing...all about his life.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN! WISHING YOU MANY MANY MANY MORE!! LOTS OF LOVE!

Here is the slideshow I made without the audio (I played "Remember When" by Randy Travis)
