A wonderful teacher

Megan had a wonderful teacher this year. Her name is Mrs. DeVries. We (Ian and I) went into the school year, last September, very hesitant. Megan's Junior Kindergarten year had been very challenging. She was only 3 when she started school and so very innocent and little. She didn't like school at all and it was hard on all of us. She cried a lot at school and it broke our hearts. She got very sick during the year with one thing after another so the lack of consistency really didn't help.

This year however, we've seen a huge change, as have a lot of others. She's not quite as shy anymore, she's loving her class, and she's grown so much! In her every day play I can see how she models her teacher's routines and teaching style. Sooo cute!

Megan has been busy making paper flowers for her teacher as a thank you gift and a card. Megan's got a huge heart. She loves making things for people. She worked very hard on the flowers and wrote the card herself. I make a homemade braided bread to go with it, and we'll give all of it to Mrs. DeVries on Megan's last day.

Can't believe she's a first grader now! Time goes sooo fast!
