Home

We had a rare lazy (rainy) Sunday today...lots of rest, relaxation, ending with an affirmation of being blessed with what we have. We spent most of the day in our pjs, with a family movie morning, playing a few board games, a pancake lunch, more rest and spending time with each other, and then we went to see a house. Not that we really want to move but Ian and I are at a crossroads. The house we're in right now is awesome but getting too small for our growing family. We're tossing with the idea of building on an addition with several bedrooms and another bathroom or moving into a bigger home, in the same school district we're in now so that Ian can stay at the school he's teaching at, so that the kids (Megan) can stay at her school (which is an excellent school), and so that I can keep my daycare up and running with the same daycare kids. We aren't sure which idea is more financially feasible. It would be great if we could stay where we are and build what we want if we had tons of money....but we don't. So, therefore, we need to make a decision. We looked at this house this evening that we really liked. The pictures were great. But it just wasn't for us.

When we bought the house we're living in now, we drove past it and knew it was for us (without even seeing the inside!). We looked at each other and said "Yup, this is where I want to live. I don't care what it looks like inside" (and, bonus, the inside of our house is awesome too).

We came home and Ian and I just breathed a deep sigh. We love our home. This is where we want to be. I guess we're both leaning towards building but we have the attitude of "if it's meant to be, it's meant to be".

So, we'll be doing lots of praying for answers, and lots of research into how much it will be to build an addition onto our house. Oh, and lots of sound sleeping (if the kids let us), since we know that this house is where we get to live, and come home to every day. Our home...
