O Christmas Tree...part 1

We got our Christmas tree a bit earlier this year because December is always very busy for us.  We actually got a Balsam Fir (right, Ian?) because we were told they last longer than a white Spruce, which we usually get.  Anyhow, we went to an AWESOME tree farm.  We could've easily spent the day there.  They recently built a new chalet and it is awesome.  So, to start off, here we are on the wagon ride...something Ethan absolutely adored and made his day.

Note:
I've been informed that it's actually a Fraser Fir...not Balsam Fir...guess I missed that part in "tree identification class" in university (Environmental Science class...which, in each test we had, had a tree identification page, and which I bombed every time).

Of course, Mason had to sit on the floor, being different...

They have actual pull-along wagons specifically built for Christmas trees.  AWESOME!

Searching for the perfect tree is an adventure with 5 different opinions (I don't count my opinion because, really, I don't care, as long as we get a tree).

Each child claims to have found the perfect one...

Then we find the perfect one and most of us are in agreement...really, much like everyone else...whT are the chances everyone agrees??

So, Third had found the "perfect" tree...a Charlie Brown one.

He was very upset that we didn't want to get it.

Hugging trees...

Third got over his favourite tree pretty quick because I told him that this year Megan and Austen got to pick their favourite and next year we would get his favourite...apparently that is now this one.  He has memorized where it is.  Oh brother....

Waiting for Daddy to cut it down...

Trying to get everyone to look at the camera AND smile is another impossible feat.

Carting out precious tree...

We employ our kids...they're the work horses around here...can you tell? ;)

On our way back...

Such a scenic tree farm...very picturesque...

They have several play structures for the kids...

And zip lining!

A Santa sleigh...

And hot chocolate in the chalet afterwards...

Our kids were in love with the bunnies they had there...

We will definitely return to this tree farm...such an AWESOME Christmas tradition.

On the way home, snow finally started.  It was meant to be.  Christmas season, here we come!  I can't wait.
