DAY 5...summer holidays!

Yesterday was "take-a-trip Tuesday" but we invited some friends over for a swim so they took the trip to our house instead :). They have a very brave 5 year old as he went straight to the diving board and jumped into the pool. Little did we know he couldn't swim! Ian quickly tapped into his life-saving skills. The rest of the afternoon was uneventful...and fun!

Today we had "wet and work Wednesday" and the kids did some ice excavating. They did this once a year or two ago and they had so much fun that they kept asking to do it again so today we did! I just froze a couple of plastic things in 3 tubs of water and today they were ice. They each got one of daddy's hammers or mallets and started hacking away. They loved it. Simple but oh so fun.

We finished the afternoon with some ice cream.  As you can see, Mason is feeling 100% better.  Although now Austen's got it.  And worse.  He's even got a fever along with the scratchy throat and sore tummy.

"Have a good day!" are Mason's favourite words!
