" Date Thursday", Reunion Prep, and Our Kids

Today, being "Date Thursday", Ian took Mason on a special one-on-one date.  It was actually my turn with Mason but he really wanted to go fishing and canoeing so being that fishing is my most favourite sport ahum! Ian took him.  He loved it.  They went in the rain but Mason didn't mind at all.  Ian said Mason just talked and talked and talked.  And that's Mason.

Meanwhile, I made preparations for the reunion this weekend.  We're bringing dessert and we're having a post-reunion get together at our house the next day so we're busy!  I made a lot of cupcakes.  You might remember these from back in January...I made the same ones for the kids' skating party.  They're white cupcakes topped with homemade chocolate ganache and homemade buttercream.  I have another batch of these already in the fridge too.  Yum!

As for a little update on our kids...

Megan's still complaining of a sore tummy after she eats so we'll have to check that out.  She's practising her leadership skills and bossing around her little brothers.

Austen burned his hand in the stove the other day when he was watching his fish being fried.  Poor guy - his hand has some blisters...we're in search of an aloe vera plant but can't find one in any store.

Mason is 3.  And those "Terrible 3's" are ringing true!  Try potty-training him.  I dare ya.

Ethan's finally crawling!  Almost 11 months and he decided to start moving.  Now, it's very much a scoot-slither-crawl-whine sorta thing but it's present! Just last night he "crawled" from Daddy to Mommy...only took him 20 minutes.
