Our latest project...

I have a lot of after school kids coming...well....(duh) after school every day. Anywhere from 5 to 7 a day. Add that to the 3 to 5 kids I already have here during the day and it's a lot of kids! Aside from the activities I plan for the kids during the day, I also do an after school activity for the kids that want to do one. So far, no one has said they don't want to participate, which I guess says something.

We either play a game or do an art/crafts sort of thing or an experiment. This week and last we've been working on photo name labels. I got the idea from a terrific site called "Frugal Family Fun Blog". What you do is, you get the kids to cut out the letters of their names from cardstock. Then, you take their photos with a different coloured background. I did this for all 10 kids and it's turning out so great! They look awesome! What we plan on doing next is to either laminate them or use packing tape so that the kids can use their "name labels" at home, for either their bedroom door, lunch kit, or whatever else they want.
