The wedding...part 2

Thursday..

My morning consisted of assembling the wedding cake and fixing up all the bumps/bruises/blemishes on it.  The kids went swimming with Daddy, Oma, and Opa and then Megan went with Oma and Opa to decorate the church afterwards.

We had lunch, Ethan had a nap, the boys went to get a few things at the Dollar store with Daddy (to play with at the rehearsal dinner), and then we CAREFULLY loaded the cake in the van with the kids. We drove slowly to the reception hall and delivered the cake.  My stress was gone after that.  Out of my hands :).

We returned to the hotel to take care of the cupcakes (for after the wedding ceremony the next day) and to get changed.  As we stepped out of the elevator in the lobby we ran into Ian's parents and my family from Holland:  Iepie, Margreet, Gerrit, and Anja.  The party was officially underway!

We met Petra and Andrew and the entire wedding party and those included in the ceremony the next day at the church.  We did the wedding rehearsal while our 3 boys explored every corner of the church balcony.

Below the bride and groom picture their ideal wedding party line-up.

We are lined up!
(The girls had masking tape marks under their "spots" so we could make sure we stood in the appropriate spots).
Here I am, looking down to check out if I'm in the right spot.  Pastor Paul is in the middle waiting for Petra to walk down the aisle.

Petra and Andrew had 5 bridesmaids (me and 4 of her friends), 5 groomsmen (Andrew's 3 brothers and 2 friends), 2 junior bridesmaids (Megan was one of them, Petra's niece "M" the other), and a ring bearer (Andrew's nephew "E") and flower girl (Petra's niece "J").

Megan took most of the photos here.  She had Ian's IPad for the day.

Just getting the details down...

Following Pastor Paul's directions...

Walk down the aisle...
(Nice aisle/pew decorations!!!)

Great pic of me....:)

Petra and our dad doing their walk down the aisle.

After the wedding rehearsal we went to a beautiful park and had dinner at the pavilion. It was a perfect location, especially for all the kids (and there were A LOT of kids).  It was wonderful because the kids were able to run around and get rid of some energy.

Wonderful food.

Another of Megan's pics.

Iepie and Margreet (2 friends fom Holland) made the long trip too.  It was great to see them again.

The boys had a lot of room to run.  Maybe a bit too much for Ethan (as he knew it was time to go home).  He took off, full speed, for the van, which was parked on the side of the road.  Thank goodness Andrew's dad outran me (I was in heels) and grabbed a squealing laughing Ethan (who thought it was a game).  Mommy was NOT impressed by her 2 year old.

We all dressed to the nautical theme of the wedding.  Here a shot of Petra, Megan, and me in our nautical-themed wear.

More wedding to come in part 3!!!
