Funnies

There's so many different blogs out there.

Political blogs.
Teenage blogs.
Cooking blogs.
Arts & Crafts blogs.
Family blogs.
Funny blogs.
Serious blogs.
And so many more.

When I first started out blogging, I wasn't too sure of what "tone" my blog would take.  I knew I wanted to document my kids' adventures but I wasn't sure what else I was going to include.  After including one post which discussed our "political" view (and was my most viewed blog post) I concluded that I didn't want my blog to include any type of controversy.  A lot of people showed support but I also got a lot of negative comments.  I didn't want that.

I concluded that I want my blog to be an online scrapbook for my kids to enjoy later one.  While I started out fully intentional with (real) scrap booking when Megan was little, every child added into the mix after that kind of got "the shaft".  I wanted to document all of my kids' adventures, milestones, and accomplishments and I get to do it in a much easier, modernized way.  Technology, thankfully, makes it so easy.
However, the writer in me still wanted to write about other topics too but since I felt that my "kids' blog" wasn't the place to do it, I created another blog.  I wrote a few posts but then life got in the way.  I fully intend to pick it back up and write more on my other blog and when I do, I will post the link here, in case you're interested.
For those of you that don't know, my lifelong passion is to be a writer.  I even took a creative writing course in University.
I was talking to a friend this week and discovered her passion for writing as well.  It sort of jump started my interest again and after I finish next week's cake order, I want to start the novel I've been planning. We will see how it turns out!

For now, I leave you with a few funny quotes from the kids...cause it's all about the kids :) !

When Ethan was just learning to talk, we were shopping in the grocery store.
We heard a baby crying a few aisles over.
Ethan perked up, turned to the sound, and shouted (in front of everyone): "Quiet!!"
The more I shushed him, the louder he kept shouting, "Quiet!!!"

Awhile ago, I kept finding pee all over the toilet seat after a certain 4 year old used the washroom.
I was fed up and made him a sign.

A boy sitting in the toilet and it had giant letters above it:  "S I T".

It helped a lot.

Fast forward a few days later.

Mason had to use the washroom when he was outside, playing in the mud.
I was busy in the kitchen and he came in.
I told him to take his boots off.
He used the washroom and went back outside.
Awhile later, I went into the washroom and noticed muddy footprint ALL OVER the floor.

I sought out the culprit.

"Mason.  Why didn't you take your boots off when you went to use the washroom??"

"I forgot."

"But I asked you to take them off.  Did you not hear me?"

"I forgot....(thinking)...maybe you better me make another sign."

I was driving the kids to school one morning.
Our 4 kids and the daycare kids.
(6 kids in the van...it's an adventure every morning LOL).
(I've had to switch up the seating because A can't sit beside B, and C bugs D, and don't even think about putting E beside F.  A can only sit in a certain seat and C won't sit anywhere but in a certain spot.)
Anyhow...
We were discussing taking the kids to Holland the other day and thus sparked a conversation about traveling to other countries.  They're very excited about flying in a plane.

Austen: "Mommy, when will we go to another country?"
Me: "I'm not sure, bud.  Maybe in a few years."
Mr.Doo (2):  "Ok!!  I'll sit in the back!"

Mason is having a bath.  He found the bath letters and is trying to find all the letters to spell his name.  After awhile, he proudly announces he's spelled his name.  I go check it out and find the following:

S-A-M

Um, who??

(He DOES know how to spell his name...he's just at the whole backwards reading stage)

Ian came upstairs the other day when I was bathing the youngest 2 boys.
Ian : "I think we should help Megan with her homework."
Me: "Why?"
Ian: "With her reading.  She's reading ortigas live in mahlahsya and donnessia."
Me: "What?"
Ian: "Orangotangs live in Malaysia and Indonesia."
