Oh my little boy...what fun you have with life...
Mason has an imaginary friend. This is totally new to us. None of his older siblings had an imaginary friend before so this is new territory for us.
His imaginary friend's name?
"My grandfather."
Nope, not grandpa. Not Opa. My grandfather.
Apparently, "My Grandfather" lives in the wall.
of Mason and Austen's bedroom.
with trees.
he fixes doors in there.
and wears a red suit.
he likes hotdogs.
And he keeps Mason up at night because he's noisy.
Can you say CREEPY!
Mason talks about His Grandfather as if it's the most normal thing in the world.
He's tall, apparently.
So, that definitely rules out any of Ian's family members...
His Grandfather had a good friend, an elf.
And he's very old...like 6...
I think I have to take Mason out more...
* * *
Soo...yesterday...
"Mason, what's up?"
"I'm sad, Mommy."
"Why are you sad?"
"Because Ethan is just a baby and not older."
While grocery shopping yesterday...
In the dairy section, we couldn't reach the eggs because an elderly man sitting in one of those motorized wheelchair/shopping carts was in front of them.
We waited for him to move and after the man drove off, Mason says to me,
"Mommy, I have to tell you a secret."
So, I lean down so he can whisper in my ear.
"Mommy, wouldn't it be great if Daddy could get us one of those carts because then I could rest my legs while shopping!"
At the check-out after grocery shopping...
...waiting to pay...
Mason:
"This is booooring. I wish there was no cash."
Me:
"You mean, then everything'd be free?"
Mason:
"Yea."
So do we all, bud. So do we all.
While loading the groceries into the trunk of the van...
...a lady with a shopping cart passes by on her way to her car.
Mason watches her and remarks whistfully...
"I really like her as a mommy."
Thanks a lot. Thanks a lot.
Apparently he admired her red coat...not mine...a blue one - his favourite colour, no less!!

He is an original....no doubt about it!
