It's been awhile...
I can say that we are now officially settled. It's been a bit of a whirlwind complete with happiness, sadness, stress, and tons and tons of fatigue. Not just Ian and I either...the kids too.
We officially moved out of our "old house" on February 17. The people buying our house continued to give us grief right up until the closing date. Even then, they added more stress for us. We are so glad that is all over now. They were completely unreasonable, selfish, and it was not a fun experience for us. We've never dealt with people like this and are very glad to get rid of them now. And hopefully we are, as once they open the pool they could try to come up with a whole set of new problems for us. End of April will be the official day we won't have to deal with them anymore...
But, on to new and better things. We are in our new house! It's awesome. So much bigger than our old house. We have room, the kids have room, the dog has room, just better all around. We've got most of the boxes unpacked and our house already looks like a cozy home. We're still hanging pictures and arranging things but at least the kids have their toys back and that in itself is good.
I am feeling better too. The stress was taking a real toll on me and my health. Of course, with Crohn's Disease, stress is a huge contributor so the last few weeks have not been fun. I am finally starting to feel better. Even my nausea has minimized. Sadly, I haven't been able to hear the baby's heartbeat yet; hopefully that will happen this week as I have an ultrasound booked. We're also shopping around for a second vehicle as that will make our lives much easier.
We are so thankful to all the people who helped us move. So grateful for wonderful family and friends who will carry box after box for us and expect nothing in return. Thank you so much!
I will post some photos of our new house once we've got the pictures on the wall and once we've spent some good quality time as a family. The kids have been up and down in their behaviour and moods and last night, Austen was in tears, telling me he missed sleeping at the old house. So, this weekend will be devoted to some good quality time together, playing games, doing arts and crafts, and curbing some "not so good" behaviour from all 3 that has surfaced during this move.
Look for photos to come soon!
